The long cold winter is here. I know this isn’t news, but Downtown Rhinelander has just the thing to help you through it…Taste of Chocolate. Mark your calendar for Friday, Feb. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. It’s a perfect date night or group of friends outing. For a $5 ticket you are not only entered in the Printpack $1000 Golden Ticket Downtown Bucks drawing, but it allows you to taste the chocolate delights that the 30 participating businesses have come up with to make the evening the fun event it is.

Several businesses will have live entertainment. What an opportunity to shop. Many business will offer specials that evening and/or coupons for future shopping. It’s a great way to “Buy Local” too.

Without volunteers who are dedicated community members, events such as Taste of Chocolate would not be possible.

Downtown Rhinelander Inc. has a few volunteer openings.

Organization Chair: The organization committee oversees communication, volunteers and fundraising for the organization. The committee meets once a month and the chair sits on the Downtown Rhinelander Inc Board of Directors. Some of the items this committee is responsible for are the monthly newsletter and the volunteer recruitment and recognition events.

Organization Committee Members: This committee meets once a month. Members could have interests/skills with newsletters, strategic planning, and volunteer management.

Car Show Project Leader: Leader for the Second Saturday in June Car Show–June 14, 2014.

Responsible for registration, prizes, volunteers, layout & design of show, entries, and oversee operation of the day.  This established and successful event requires someone with antique car knowledge.

Promotion Committee Members: This committee oversees and evaluates all DRI events. This committee meets once month.   Assists in planning and work with project leaders to ensure the events are successful.

Please contact DRI if you have any questions or if you are interested helping Downtown Rhinelander. 715-362-7374    msdri@frontiernet.net.

Maggie Steffen is available at (715) 362-7374 or email msdri@frontiernet.net.
