YMCA of the Northwoods will host New Year?s Eve Gala
This New Year’s Eve, celebrate for a good cause. The YMCA of the Northwoods is holding “A Cause for Celebration” New Year’s Eve Gala Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight.
The fundraiser gala, presented by the YMCA Board of Directors, will include appetizers, drinks, a cash bar, DJ and dancing, and a Times Square Countdown at 11 p.m.
Those attending can bid on deluxe auction items, such as a trip to Hawaii, beautiful jewelry and a family Disney vacation. The event is black tie optional, which sets a classic tone for the evening, but formal attire is “admired, not required.”
“The Y is pleased to hold such a unique New Year’s event for our community,” Laurie Schlitt, interim CEO of the YMCA of the Northwoods, said. “We want to invite all in our area to come out and enjoy an elegant New Year’s Eve and celebrate the coming year at our beautiful facility.”
Tickets are $50 per person, and all proceeds will benefit the YMCA of the Northwoods Annual Support Campaign, which provides Y scholarships for those in the Northwoods, who would not otherwise have access to healthy programs and services.
For those who wish to shop for formal wear locally, Lund and Taylor Bridal Gallerie is offering to donate 10 percent of proceeds from items purchased for the gala to the YMCA of the Northwoods Annual Support Campaign. The event’s title sponsors are Ministry Health Care and Wickersham Jewelry.
“We’d like to thank our title sponsors, Ministry Health Care and Wickersham Jewelry,” YMCA of the Northwoods Board of Directors President, Wendy M. Henrichs, DC, DICCP, said. “All money raised is kept within the community.”
