If you love the sound an all brass ensemble makes that fills an auditorium with music, have we got a show for you at the Campanile Center for the Arts in Minocqua Thursday, Oct. 10th, at 7 p.m.

Let’s call it “Brass on Fire” which also happens to be the name of their latest album. Bay Street Brassworks is an internationally acclaimed touring ensemble and one of America’s finest and busiest brass ensembles. This award-winning brass quintet was founded in 1995 and performs a wide variety of musical genres ranging from Bach to Be-Bop. After several years on the East Coast, Bay Street Brassworks is now based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bay Street Brassworks has performed throughout the United States and travelled to Korea during a 1999 concert tour. Performances of note include world premiere performances and clinics alongside the American Brass Quintet, New York Brass Quintet, Harvey Phillips, Gunther Schuller and Eric Ewazen.

In addition, Bay Street Brassworks has shared the stage with members of the Annapolis and New York Brass Quintets, Baltimore Symphony brass section, National Symphony Orchestra brass section, and Masterworks Chorale of Westminster, Maryland.

Bay Street Brassworks has recorded three albums. “Fresh Off The Boat – Folk Music From Around The World” was released in 2002, and their second album “American Escapades” in 2006. The latest album, “Brass on Fire” was released in October 2011 and marks the group’s first studio recording. Bay Street Brassworks has received numerous awards including the Grand Prize at the 2003 New York Brass Conference International Brass Quintet Competition.

Tickets are $20 for Adults and $10 for Students and can be purchased by calling 715-356-9700 or by going online at www.campanilecenter.org. Campanile Center for the Arts is located one block west of southbound Hwy.51 on Milwaukee St. in downtown Minocqua.
