Michael Cheslock named community education program coordinator
Michael (Mike) Cheslock has been selected as the School District of Rhinelander’s community education program coordinator. He replaces Kim Swisher, who resigned from the position at the end of the 2012-13 school year. He will begin his responsibilities in August, pending final board approval.
Mr. Cheslock was employed during the 2012-2013 school year with the Merrill School District as the 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Maple Grove School. Prior to his employment with Merrill, he was a substitute teacher in Rhinelander and surrounding school districts. He also has a degree and experience in business and marketing. He is a School District of Rhinelander graduate, has been involved in a variety of community activities and was employed as the YMCA of the Northwoods program director from 2004 to 2008.
Mr. Cheslock was the top candidate for the community education program coordinator following the first round of interviews held with district staff and the second round of interviews held with community members.
