Obituary: Mary Jean Reed

Mary Jean Reed, 82, of Rhinelander died May 29, 2013, at the Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff. She was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Monico to Ferdinand and Belva (Lind) Nehls. She is survived by her husband, Glen “Bucky” Reed; two daughters, Sidnee Mari (Mark) Malek of Spring Green, and Barbara (Vin) Qualley of Oshkosh; two sons, Michael (Myra) Reed of Omaha, Neb., and Robert (Janice) Reed of Minocqua; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Jack and Gordon Nehls. She worked for the Rhinelander School District and retired in 1991 after 23 years of service. She enjoyed quilting, rosemaling and embroidery. Memorial services were held June 4 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Norman Peterson officiating. Interment was in Newbold Memorial Cemetery.
