Northwoods School of Dance performance
The Northwoods School of Dance, under the direction of Karen Cook, will perform Friday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rhinelander High School auditorium. This performance is partially funded by a grant from the Northern Arts Council. Ballet, jazz/tap and hip-hop students ages 3 to 30 will perform.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children. A portion of this year’s profit will go toward a dance scholarship fund. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
A shortened version of the show will also be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. For information about this show and ticket prices, e-mail [email protected].
The dancers will be raising awareness for homeless animals of all types and will be taking donations for the Rhinelander Animal Shelter to help support the pets until they can find forever homes.
The non-profit theatre group will perform excerpts from the Broadway musical Cats. Dancers have been working diligently to perfect their cat-like moves and take the audience into the alleys where these cats will play. They have been fundraising to pay for a backdrop that will add to their magical transformation, and as always, the story will be narrated by a guest reader.
