The Rhinelander area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a three-hour workshop intended for nonprofits and community organizations interested in improving their volunteer engagement practices on Wednesday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at the Curran Professional Building, located at 315 S. Oneida Ave., Rhinelander. The workshop will cover the following topics:

Volunteer engagement standards and assessment:
An overview of organizational volunteer management best practices to effectively engage volunteers in meeting an organization’s social mission. Participants will take a survey assessing their current organizational practices and develop an action plan to improve in two areas throughout the next six months.

Volunteer recruitment:
Explore the four key concepts of volunteer recruitment. Participants will discuss barriers for volunteers in their agencies and discuss strategies to address these barriers; develop a recruitment message; understand motivational styles; and understand who the best recruiters are for an agency.

The fee to attend is $5 for chamber members and users of Volunteer Connection and $15 for non-members. The fee is payable online before or at the time of the training.
