The Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing (NATH) and its Frederick Place Shelter have been designated by the Northwoods Regional Solutions Network of Wisconsin Women Equal Prosperity (NRSN of WW=P) as its 2013 partner for the group’s annual LUNAFEST fundraiser on Friday, April 12.

LUNAFEST, created and funded by LUNA®, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women®, is a fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers and bringing women together in their communities.

The April event, hosted by NRSN of WW=P, will be held at the Three Lakes High School auditorium. A silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. showing of LUNAFEST films.

This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, as illustrated through nine short films by female filmmakers. The films range from animation to fictional drama and cover topics such as women’s health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

General admission is $20 per ticket and student admission $10. All proceeds from LUNAFEST will benefit NATH and the Breast Cancer Fund.
