Rhinelander Swim Club makes waves at Lakeland meet

Rhinelander Swim Club swimmers continued to make waves on December 8th at Lakeland Union High School. Seventy-one swimmers made the short trip on Saturday, to compete against the Lakeland Swim Club, the Merrill Aqua Jays, and the Bay Area Swim Team.

Once again, a number of talented swimmers dropped double digits to improve their times. In the 500 yard Freestyle, Annika Benoy (14) dropped an amazing 31.61 seconds for a new time of 6:36.96; Russell Benoy (11) dropped 19.47 seconds for a new time of 7:22.19. In the 100 yard Freestyle, Taylor Hollands (11) took off 14.88 seconds for a new personal best of 1:28.53; Conor Natrop (13) dropped 19.74 seconds for a new time of 1:22.03; Haley Seefeldt (11) took off 18.66 for a new time of 1:15.33. Elly Laggis (14) dropped 14.99 seconds in the 100 yard Backstroke for a time of 1:18.20. During the 50 yard Freestyle, Trevor Marvin (10) took off an amazing 27.67 seconds for a new time of 1:17.20; Morgan Melton (10) took off 13.99 for a time of 45.03; Grace Schindler (7) dropped 14.57 seconds for a time of 48.35. In the 50 yard Backstroke, Trevor Marvin took an additional 17.60 seconds for a new personal best of 1:17.92. And Haley Seefeldt took 12.66 seconds from her 50 yard Breaststroke, for a new time of 43.48 seconds.
RSC swimmers also teamed up in the relay races. Out of the twenty-five relay teams, they took home eight first place ribbons; six seconds place ribbons, five third place ribbons, and two fourth place ribbons
Rhinelander Swim Club will host a home conference meet this Saturday, December 15th starting at 10am. The meet is free to the public to attend.
