Timber Wolf Alliance offers wolf education programs in area

With the recent delisting of the Great Lakes Gray Wolf and subsequent wolf hunting legislation proposed in several regional states, the demand for reliable information on wolves is high. The Timber Wolf Alliance (TWA) strives to answer that demand with science-based information through its active public outreach.

TWA’s Speaker’s Bureau program provides free presentations to schools, clubs and the general public. This unique education initiative uses trained member-volunteers to deliver programs with science-based information in an effort to dispel myths surrounding wolves. These offerings include general presentations like “Introductory Wolf Ecology” and “Living with Wolves” and incorporate hands-on learning tools like skulls, pelts and group activities. In addition, TWA staff are available to provide in-depth, customized programs on topics such as “Wolf-Deer Relationships”, “Wolves – Past to Present”, “The Wolf Harvest” and more.

If you would like more information, or to schedule a presentation, call Rad Watkins, TWA Education and Communications Specialist, at (715) 892-8359, or email twa@discoverycenter.net. You can also visit the Timber Wolf Alliance online at TimberWolfAlliance.org.
