Letter: Tom Tiffany has shown he cares by Becky Daigle

Rep. Tiffany and his staff were of great help when I was having problems getting into the School of Nursing due to residency restrictions in a Wisconsin-based Nursing School.

Originally I had been attending NorthCentral Technical College, petitioning to be accepted in to the School of Nursing as well as on a “pre-accepted wait list” for two years prior to receiving notice that I would not be eligible because of the county in which I resided. Thanks to Tom and his staff and their hard work, I am now a second semester student in the School of Nursing. Because of their research and diligent work with the college, not only have residency restrictions been revised, the entire program has been revamped to reflect upon a students “performance and competency” versus a petition based/wait list based acceptance. Without Tom, I would have been overlooked at this college, and had to start out with an entirely different college which could have taken me out of the area, as well as prolonged my dream of becoming a nurse.

We need a guy like Tom Tiffany to be our state senator-someone who will listen and follow through to make sure that things get done properly and fairly.

Becky Daigle, Tomahawk
