Letter: Hovde is right choice for U.S. Senate by Joyce Bant
Editor:
When looking into the crowded Republican Primary for Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate seat, one candidate stands above the rest. Eric Hovde has a unique background in that he has a breadth of experience running companies, meeting payroll and understanding the complex financial markets. Eric has created hundreds of jobs in the real estate and community banking sectors. With the world economy starting to falter, we need someone with deep experience in finance.
When I have seen Hovde speak on the campaign trail, he talks about the big picture issues. The U.S. is nearing a dangerous place in history with its accumulated debt of $16 trillion. Lifetime politicians in both parties have been unable to solve the problem. In fact, it seems like hardly anyone in Congress (short of Paul Ryan) has offered up any solutions. From visiting his website, listening to his interviews and hearing him speak, it is clear that Hovde has a strong command on these pertinent financial issues. He understands that our country has to install a plan to balance the federal budget, change a tax code that is full of loopholes and gimmicks, and improve the struggling economy.
In a crowded Senate field, I encourage others to learn more about Eric Hovde for the exact reasons I mentioned. I am excited to vote for him on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Joyce Bant, Hazelhurst
