Walking Up Main Street: It’s time to evaluate how we’re doing

The time is now!

Downtown Rhinelander Inc. has been a formal organization since 2006. With the recent changes of a new president and the retirement of our director, it is time to redefine our direction and purpose. The strategic questions are:

• What do we do?

• For whom do we do it?

• How do we excel?

Typically an organization enters into this evaluation process every three to five years, so we are right on target. At the June Executive Board meeting we approved the first phase of this evaluation. In August we will survey our stakeholders to see how we have been doing, and what direction we should go in the future. (Watch for a survey in your email.)

It is important that as BID members, business owners, volunteers and community members participate in the survey and focus groups over the next two months. We will take your opinions and data seriously, and use it to redesign our organization with your feedback as the basis for the new directions.

In October we will present a report to the community based upon the information we gather. After that report we will restructure our organization to meet the needs of our stakeholders in Downtown Rhinelander.

Be part of this process! Let your voice be heard. This is an exciting time as we look at the past accomplishments and envision what we can accomplish in the future.

Our goal is always a vibrant, friendly and prosperous Downtown Rhinelander!

Sally Latimer is the President of DRI. An interim director will be in place August through November when a permanent director will be hired. Call (715) 362-7374, or email msdri@frontiernet.net.
