New Hours for Rhinelander Animal Shelter

Beginning April 1, the Rhinelander Animal Shelter will have a new schedule of open hours.” The new schedule will allow staff and volunteers to complete the majority of the animal care and cleaning in the morning before we open to the public. Second, the new hours will better fit the schedule of many people who work during the day.” said Bria Swartout, shelter animal care giver. “With open hours more conducive to people’s schedules, we hope more families will come meet adoptable pets, or come to volunteer.”

The new hours will be Monday through Friday, Noon to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, Noon to 3:00 p.m.
A low-cost vaccination clinic will be held at the Animal Shelter on Saturday, April 28, from Noon to 3:00 pm. Rabies and distemper combination vaccines will be available for dogs and cats. Dogs must be brought on leash and cats must be in proper carriers. Because of this special event, the shelter will not be open for pet viewing or adoptions that day. Proceeds will benefit the Oneida County Humane Society.
