Edward H. Stenstrom Jr., 88, of Rhinelander, died on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at his home. He was born on Feb. 13, 1924, in Williams Bay, to Edward and Fannie Stenstrom Sr.

Edward graduated from Williams Bay High School in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. Following his honorable discharge, Edward married Mary Bleimehl on June 15, 1946, in Chicago, Ill. They moved to Rhinelander in 1947 where they raised their family of three children. Edward was employed for 39 years as a sheet metal worker at the Rhinelander Paper Company, retiring in 1986. He was an active member of the Rhinelander congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1976. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and woodworking.

Edward is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Stenstrom of Rhinelander; a daughter, Janet (Douglas) Mueller of Dorchester, WI; two sons, Dennis (Nancy) Stenstrom of Rhinelander and David (Reta) Stenstrom of South Portland, ME; four grandchildren, Timothy (Katie) Stenstrom, Nathan (Stephanie) Mueller, Allyssa Mueller, and Jordan Mueller; and three great grandchildren, Alexa, Capri, and Hayley Mueller. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, Daniel; and a half brother, Hugh.
