Advanced Health in Rhinelander offers locally produced healthy chocolate

Drs. Ida and Jerod Bergman of Advanced Health in Rhinelander have introduced their latest product to the health market-chocolate.
“We have been perfecting this recipe for the last two years, and its finally here and available to the public!” said Dr. Ida Allen-Bergman.
When they started counseling patients as far as diet and nutrition, they found it was important to help them limit sugar intake. “The biggest complaint we heard from our patients was that they missed their chocolate,” said Allen-Bergman. “Since we too are chocolate lovers and know all the health benefits of natural cacao, we thought there had to be a way to create a product that had all of the antioxidant and other health benefits without the detrimental sugar, but the taste had to be amazing. You know its the right thing to do when everything comes together this perfectly.”
Their new raw chocolate “superfood” is called Genesis Chocolate. “We named it that because to us Genesis symbolizes new beginnings and creations,” said Dr. Allen-Bergman. “This chocolate is something that is brand new to the health market. You may find regular chocolate sweetened with xylitol, agave or sugar substitutes but what we did that is different is the blending of organic fair trade raw cacao with the super foods yacon (from Peru), and Luo Han Guo (from China) in very specific amounts to add additional antioxidants and nutrient value. In fact, the ORAC value of one square of Genesis Chocolate is higher than a heaping plate of raw vegetables!”

Ida and Jerod, it is more of a nutritional essential needed each day, than a once-in-a-while treat.
