Business Close-Up: Local business offers a multitude of wood options

There’s nothing like wood to give a home or business that special appeal, and at Enterprise Wood Products in Rhinelander, the choices are almost endless. Owned and operated by Ray Burgan and his partner Steve Ory, this operation manufactures a multitude of wood products including trim, flooring, siding, decking, and even custom made mantels.

Enterprise Wood Products has found a unique niche with their clientele by custom milling, staining, planing and even carving wood products. And Steve and Ray offer their customers a wide variety of species and products to choose from.

One of the most popular wood choices, especially for siding, is reclaimed wood from grain mills and old barns. “This type of siding has become very popular with our customers,” said Ray. “We call it wood that’s got a story to tell.”

In addition this firm also offers a wide range of other wood species, such as cedar, pine, oak, birch and maple. Customers can even bring in trees from their own land and have the qualified personnel at Enterprise plane it into wood for flooring, or create an eye-catching mantle piece. Another specialty product they produce are custom beams. These can be carved or planed, and reflect the unique characteristics of the wood they are made from.

Stains are also offered here. Since this company specializes in custom wood products, they also know how best to match stains to existing colors and wood species when customers want to remodel or put an addition onto their home. “We’ve done projects where there is an old floor in a home and the customer wants to extend it into the rest of the house,” said Ray. “We can perfectly match that stain and make the flooring look continuous.”

If a customer is unsure of how much lumber they need or what would look best, Ray and Steve will visit a project and come up with suggestions and ideas. They can also take measurements and read blue prints so home and business owners have confidence that the amount of material they need for a project will be accurate.

The products offered at Enterprise Wood Products are competitively priced and this pair welcomes clients who have a special project in mind but may need help or suggestions on how to make it a reality. Their spacious showroom floor also is a good place to pick up ideas and check out samples of the wood products that are offered.

Enterprise Wood Products is located at 3145 Cty. G. in Rhinelander. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
