Several members of the Wausau Woodchucks baseball team were in Rhinelander June 25 to lead a youth baseball clinic for kids ages 6 to 14. The clinic marked the 20th appearance of the event in Rhinelander, a tradition that dates back to 2006. It is sponsored by the Wisconsin Chevy Dealers and Rhinelander GM Auto Group. Approximately 150 boys and girls took part in the clinic, which featured multiple stations focused on different baseball skills. Kids practiced throwing, fielding ground balls and fly balls, played a game using a wiffle bat, and took swings in the batting cages against pitches thrown by Woodchucks players. Each station was run by a member of the Woodchucks roster. The clinic wrapped up with an autograph session, where Woody the Woodchuck and the players were available to meet with participants.
