The Rhinelander High School girls soccer team played two conference games last week and won both contests without giving up a single goal.
The Hodags traveled to Antigo on Tuesday and held a 13-0 lead at halftime. The game was called via the mercy rule at that time as the Red Robins had not had a shot on goal while the Hodags had 20 shots on net. Sophie Miljevich led the attack with 3 goals and 3 assists. Vivian Lamers, Ella Miljevich and Gabby Wanta each scored twice. Ten players for the Hodags either had a goal or an assist in the game.
On Thursday night the Hodags entertained the Northland Pines Eagles and finished the first half of conference play undefeated. They scored a 5-0 win with five different players scoring goals. Those scoring for the Hodags were Becca Brost, Vivian Lamers and Kiley Pooch in the first half. In the second half Lindsey Hoerchler scored and Ella Miljevich finished the scoring with a penalty kick after a Pines hand ball in the box in the 53rd minute.. Sophie Miljevich had 2 assists in the game.
The Hodags are 5-0 in conference play. The team’s next game is at Ashland on Friday, May 9.
