The Rhinelander High School boys tennis team faced Lakeland on Tuesday, April 22 in a key matchup in the conference. The Hodags swept the doubles flights and won the Nos. 3 and 4 singles matches to win the meet by a 5-2 score.
The No. 1 doubles team of Aiden Ostermann and Michael Schiek and the No. 3 pairing of Donek Koniar and Braydon Lorman tallied key victories for Rhinelander. The Hodags’ two losses came in the top two singles flights, Payton McCue at No. 1 and Karter Massey at No. 2. Calvin Loomis had the longest match of the day. He lost the first set 1-6 but rallied to take the second 7-5. He won the tiebreaker 11-9 to give the Hodags win number 5.
