Hodag Highlights: Wrestling

These wrestlers earned all-conference recognition on Saturday at the conference meet in Minocqua. Avrom Barr, Anthony Boldt, Dresden Klaver, and Jeffrey Dupree earned honorable mention, Logan Schwinger earned second team all-conference, and Reid Schultz was a conference champion.

Anthony Boldt got the pin against the Lakeland opponent.

Avrom Barr had the advantage and worked to pin his opponent and earn honorable mention at 138 lbs.

Senior Dresden Klaver had a headlock on Lakeland's Nolan Johnson. Klaver would get the win on points and finish in third place.

Senior Logan Schwinger pinned his Tomahawk opponent and earned a second-place finish and second team all-conference.

Wrestling in the 285 lb. class, Reid Schultz pinned all his opponents, including Lakeland's Tyrone Moore. The two wrestlers worked for hand control early in the match for the championship that Schultz won to earn first team all-conference recognition.

The Lakeland High School field house was the site of the conference wrestling meet on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Hodags entered the meet with nine of the 14 weight classes filled. The team was hoping to have a good showing and did have one champion in Reid Schultz in the 285 lb. class, and second place went to Logan Schwinger at 175 lbs. Third-place finishes went to Avrom Barr, Anthony Boldt, Dresden Klaver, and Jeffrey Dupree, earning them honorable mention all-conference. Schultz was first team all-conference and Schwinger was second team.
