The track team members that were in Rhinelander for spring break took the bus ride to Wisconsin Rapids for an indoor track meet. The girls placed second out of five teams while the boys placed third.
One new girls school record was set as both sophomore Macy Myers and freshman Emaline Hintz broke the 8’3” mark in the pole vault with a height of 8’6”. The was as high as Myers would go. Hintz then continued and set the new mark at 9’3” .
The two Hodags finished first and second in the event.
In other action, Kara Monk won the 1600 meter run and the 4x133 meter relay was won by the team of Violet Biolo, Myers, Addison Fish and Wendy Fronk. Rhinelander also placed second in the 4x400, Biolo was second in the 50 meter dash, and Olivia Ruetz was second in the 400 meter dash.
Logan Schwinger was first in the shot put with a toss of 43-11 1/2 for the only event win for the boys. Matthew Haselton was second in the 400, Michael Brunette was third in the 1600 and the boys were third in the 4x133 relay.
Both the boys and girls were in Ashland on Tuesday for a meet.
