The Rhinelander High School swim team hosted the annual Hodag Relays last week with nine visiting teams participating There were three new records set during the event. The Hodags began the meet by setting the new record in the 200 yard medley reverse relay. The old record, set in 2019, was 1:54.08. The new time, set by June Chiamulera, Vivian Lamers Ella Heck, and Kiley Pooch, is 1:51.65. The Hodags also set the new time in the 50 yard mixer relay. Lamers, Heck and Millie Gruett set a new time of 1:21.62, besting the 2022 time of 1:22.65.
The last record set was set by Bayport in the 500 yard decrescendo relay.
Chiamulera, Heck, Gruett were part of three winning relays while Lamers, Pooch, Emma Houg and Rylee Mickevicius raced in two winning relays.
The Hodags won the meet by one point over Bayport, 120-119.
Rhinelander next swims on September 4, at home in a double dual with Antigo and Medford.
