The Rhinelander BMX track was busy with competitive racing on Aug. 9-10, but it was all in preparation for an even bigger event. The track hosted a state qualifier, with racers earning valuable points to secure their spot in the upcoming State Championship race.
Despite a brief weather-related delay that shifted the Aug. 9 Badger State Games races from a noon start to 5 p.m., riders took to the track and showed their skill. The Sunday, Aug. 10 race began on time at noon and ran smoothly, adding to the excitement as competitors pushed to qualify for the final.
The state championship race is set to take place at the local track on September 6 and 7. The event will feature a pre-race on Saturday, followed by the main championship race on Sunday.
