The Rhinelander High School girls swim team maintained their perfect conference record with a decisive 121-49 victory last week over the previously undefeated Lakeland T-Birds at Heck Community Pool.
The Hodags demonstrated their depth by sweeping the top three places in both the 200-yard freestyle and individual medley. The team won all 11 events and captured first and second place in four events during the meet.
Rylee Mickevicius and Vivian Lamers led the individual performances, each winning four events. Both swimmers placed first in two individual events and competed on two winning relay teams. The team faced stiffer competition Saturday at a 19-team meet at Waukesha South, finishing 13th overall. Ella Heck posted the Hodags’ best individual result, placing sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke. The Hodags will return to action Oct. 2 when they travel to Ladysmith for their next conference meet.
