Hodag Highlights: Hockey

The high school playoffs began Thursday, Feb. 20, with the first round of the regionals taking place in the state. The Hodags were the eighth seed and traveled to the No. 1 seed, Tomahawk. Tomahawk defeated Rhinelander twice during the season, not allowing the Hodags a goal. Thursday was no different, as Tomahawk scored nine goals and did not allow a goal. The Hodags were outshot 70-5, and most of the game was played on the Rhinelander end of the ice. The score after the first period was 3-0, 8-0 after the second, and then the Hatchets scored one more in the third to make the final score 9-0 to end the Hodags season.
