The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team capped off their home season with a dominant performance Thursday at the YMCA of the Northwoods, defeating Mosinee 119.55 to 39.65 despite competing with a depleted roster.
Several Hodags gymnasts were unable to compete due to illnesses and injuries, but those who took the floor delivered impressive performances, with Rhinelander claiming the top three spots in every event except floor exercise, where the home team swept the top two positions.
Sophomore Addison Fish stole the show with a breakthrough performance, setting career bests in all four events. Fish scored an 8.05 on floor exercise, 8.425 on vault, 7.90 on beam, and finished with a career-high 31.425 in the all-around. She captured first place in floor, vault, and bars, while taking third on beam.
Freshman Marsaides Williams also had a stellar night, posting career bests on beam with an 8.15—good enough for first place—and in the all-around with a 30.775, earning third place overall. Williams finished fourth on floor exercise, second on bars, and third on vault, demonstrating her versatility across all events.
Junior Emeline Hintz rounded out the Hodags’ strong showing with a second-place all-around finish at 30.975. Hintz was consistent throughout the meet, placing second on floor, beam, and vault while finishing third on bars.
The lopsided victory came as Mosinee competed primarily with junior varsity gymnasts.
The team followed up their home success with a trip to Ashland on Saturday for an invitational meet. The Hodags posted a team score of 120.95, finishing fifth out of nine competing teams. Hintz once again led Rhinelander with an all-around score of 31.025, continuing her steady performances as the season heads toward its final stretch.
