The Rhinelander High School boys swim team's year-end banquet was held March 3 celebrating a successful season. The team won the Great Northern Conference, the sectional meet and placed second at state.
Each swimmer received a plaque commemorating their state appearance and 2nd place finish.
Awards were presented to Dean Gillingham and Paul Denis for most improved rookies while Charlie Antonuk was awarded the most improved returning swimmer. Freshman Matthew Wood received the Hodag Award.
After the conference meet coaches voted for swimmer of the year and coach of the year. Shawn Denis and Mathias Fugle were voted co-swimmers of the year and Jenny Heck was voted coach of the year.
