The Rhinelander High School baseball team had mixed results in its recent contests against Wausau East and Antigo.
The Hodags hosted Wausau East at Stafford Field Monday, May 12 in a non-conference game. East held a 2-0 lead until the 4th when Rhinelander’s Sawyer Bishop hit a 2-run single to tie the game. East then scored 5 runs in the last 2 innings, with 4 of the runs driven in by Ketyon Laszewski. Bishop pitched into the 6th inning and gave up 4 runs.
The Hodags traveled to Antigo on Tuesday, May 13 and came away with a win against the Red Robins. The Hodags were down a run going into the top of the 7th 8-7. With Vince White and Tyler Chariton both on base, Dylan Vanderbunt hit a double to score them both. Two more runs scored and the Hodags held the Robins scoreless in the bottom of the inning to win 11-8.
