Northwoods celebration of winter – Yeti Fest
Something for everyone at the event held at Nicolet College
The community is invited for a celebration of all things winter at Yeti Fest Saturday, Feb. 23, on the Nicolet College Campus just south of Rhinelander.
The free, day-long, family-friendly community festival will feature more than a dozen different activities that will take place both indoors and outdoors from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“We’ve designed Yeti Fest so there really is something for everyone and all of the activities are free,” said Toni Van Doren, one of the Yeti Fest organizers from Nicolet.
“Inside we’ll show the free movie ‘Harry and the Hendersons,’ featuring Yeti’s cousin the Sasquatch, and there will be all kinds of indoor games and activities for kids and adults, live music by Boat Patrol, a DJ, and food and beverages which will be available for purchase from six different establishments.
“For those who love to play outside in the snow, there will be the Yeti Snowshoe Project where we’ll snowshoe the outline of a giant yeti out in the Nicolet Field, human sled dog races, human foosball, an obstacle course set up by the YMCA of the Northwoods, snowman decorating and a sledding hill.”
All events will take place in or around the Lakeside Center unless otherwise noted. Times for events are as follows:
