Volunteers wanted for Rhinelander’s Boom Lake Log Jam
The second annual Boom Lake Log Jam offers variety of opportunities for community involvement.
The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce is asking for the community’s help in making the 2nd annual Boom Lake Log Jam a great success. Those who choose to get involved will be a part of a major event and will also receive a free volunteer t-shirt.
Volunteer opportunities are available Friday through Sunday June 19-21 and include setup and tear-down, ticket booth staffing, bartending, organizing kids’ activities, and other fun duties. Shifts are just a few hours long and promise to be entertaining as well as educational.
“The Boom Lake Log Jam and many other large community events would not be possible without the significant help from our generous volunteers,” says Dana DeMet, executive director of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. “Volunteering doesn’t simply mean you spend a few hours helping out at an event, it means that our community organizations will continue to bring fun events like this one and others to our area year after year.”
The Boom Lake Log Jam will take place at Hodag Park on the shores of Boom Lake and will feature family-friendly activities like the All American Lumberjack Shows, Gene Shepard Hodag Shows, live music, citizen log rolling and cross-cut competitions, a canoe and kayak race, an art and craft fair, food court and much more.
Admission to the event is free and open to all ages.
