Rhinelander Football wins first game of the season

The Rhinelander Hodags got the 2018 season off to a positive start with a non-conference win over Prescott 28-6.
Hodag quarterback Brock Lieder had 92 passing yards with no interceptions and one touchdown pass, a 60-yard throw to wide receiver Peyton Erickson. The Hodags accumulated 302 total yards of offense to Prescott’s 185 yards, which included three turnovers, two fumbles and an interception.
Running back Drake Martin had 31 carries for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Erickson had 71 receiving yards and three receptions.
On the other side of the ball, Peyton Erickson led the defense with 10 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception. Isaiah Piosalan finished the game with six tacks, one for a loss, and one forced fumble. Kristian Klingler added two tackles, one for a loss, and a sack.
The Hodags host Tomahawk Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. at Mike Webster Stadium.
