Seventh Day Adventist Thrift donates to NAMI
The Seventh Day Adventist Thrift Shop donates part of their profits every three months to an organization that helps others. This time it went to NAMI Northern Lakes, a local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Volunteers advocate for better quality of care, rights and interests of people with mental illness, particularly those who cannot speak for themselves. NAMI also provides support to family and friends of people with mental illness.

“(We) felt that NAMI was a very worthwhile organization as it helps those who need supportive services during mental health recovery,” according to Thrift Shop volunteer Donna Peters.
NAMI is located in the basement of Trinity Evangelical Church, 235 N. Stevens St. Walk ins are welcome and encouraged to stop by the drop in center. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and Friday, 4-7 p.m.
