Auditions Oct. 19, 20 for Nicolet Players’ A Christmas Carol
Anyone ever say you have a little Scrooge in you?
Perfect!
The director of the Nicolet Players would like to speak with anyone else interested in any of the two dozen acting roles in the holiday classic A Christmas Carol this December at Nicolet College.
“It’s a large cast and we have roles for men, women and children of just about any age,” said Jim Nuttall, Nicolet College Theatre director.
Auditions for this timeless tale will be held at 7 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19 and 20, in the Nicolet College Theatre.
The Nicolet Players last performed A Christmas Carol in 2003 to rave reviews and Nuttall thought it was time to bring the Charles Dickens classic back for another run.
While organizing two dozen actors will be challenge for Nuttall, the director, it won’t be for most of the actors in the play.
“Almost all of the characters are only in a few scenes,” he said. “So the rehearsal schedule will not be as demanding as other plays, making it perfect for anyone looking to act for the first time and get some stage experience.”
No preparation is necessary for auditions, but Nuttall did note that actors who have read the script beforehand have an increased comfort level reading lines at auditions.
Scripts are available for three-day checkout from the college’s Richard J. Brown Library located on the second floor of the Learning Resources Center.
The play has roles for six children age 8 or older and about 20 other parts for men and women in their late teens on up through those 50 or older.
Public performances will take place Dec. 3 to 6 and Dec. 10 to 13.
