New venue announced for annual Nicolet National Bank RASTA Rally Mt. Bike Race
The Rhinelander Area Silent Trails Association (RASTA) in partnership with Nicolet National Bank announces registration is open for the RASTA Rally Mt. Bike race. The race will take place at the Washburn Lake Silent Sports Trails area May 17 at 1 p.m.
The RASTA Rally race has moved to the new location to provide for a more challenging single track, bridges, rock gardens, fast and fun flow trails, and hill climbs and descents.
There will be two races consisting of a “short course” of approximately 7 miles that will use single track and two track trails for a race of approximately 3/4 to 1-hour for beginners to intermediate riders. The “long course” will use Washburn’s entire single track and some two track for a race of approximately 12 miles that should take 1 1/2 hours to complete (estimated winners time).
There will be a free kid’s race (11 and under) held after the main races. Exact courses and distances will be determined a week prior to race date.
Race registration will be limited to 125 participants in order to provide a quality event. Early registration is recommended but race day registration will be at the Perch Lake shelter from 10 a.m. to noon. Registered racers will receive a chili lunch compliments of the Northwestern Lounge.
