Three Lakes receives Bird City recognition
On Feb 13, 2014, the Steering Committee for Bird City Wisconsin, has recognized the town of Three Lakes as a Bird City for a second year at the Sustained Flight level.
To achieve this recognition, the Nicolet Bird Club of Three Lakes, Al Votis and students from the Three Lakes High School had meet nine required criteria. This recognition promotes strategies for bird-centered conservation activities.
Bill Lamon, president of the Nicolet Bird Club of Three Lakes and the leader behind Bird City for Three Lakes will be a presenter at the upcoming Bird City Summit, March 21 and 22 in Oshkosh. The public is invited to attend.
Lamon and the Bird City Wisconsin Steering Committee view this event as an opportunity to better serve the community by providing a forum in which they can both share their own conservation ideas and also gain new knowledge.
