Fatal fire in Rhinelander
On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at approximately 10:42 a.m., Oneida County 911 Center received a report of a fire on Maple Street in the city of Rhinelander. The Rhinelander Fire Department responded to the call.
Upon arrival at the residence, it was discovered that one person was trapped inside the building and another was outside the building. As a result of the fire, there was a fatality and one person was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital with unknown injuries as a result of the fire. The names of the individuals have not been released at this time.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the fire in under investigation.
The Pelican Fire Department and the Rapid Intervention Team were requested for mutual aid.
