Wolf harvested in Vilas County
The inaugural Wisconsin wolf season opened Monday, Oct. 15, 2012. Four wolves were reported as harvested during the opening day of the season, one each in Zones 1, 2, 3, and 5, including one in Vilas County. The season runs until the quotas for all zones are met or until February 28, 2013.The Department of Natural Resources will be updating the wolf hunting and trapping page of its website (dnr.wi.gov — search “wolf”) with wolf harvest by zone as wolves are reported. Hunters and trappers have 24 hours to report harvest.
