VOTE TODAY for ‘The Fix Is In’ in Toyota’s 100 Cars For Good Program
Rhinelander-based The Fix Is In, Inc. has announced that it has been selected as one of 500 nonprofit finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program, a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 nonprofit organizations over the course of 100 days. The Fix Is In was selected as a finalist from more than 4,000 applications nationwide.
Since May 14, 100 Cars for Good has profiled five finalists at 100carsforgood.com. Individual members of the public are able to vote for which ever nonprofit they think can do the most good with a new vehicle. The nonprofit with the most votes at the end of each day will win one of six Toyota models. Runners-up will each receive a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.
The Fix Is In, Inc. will be up for consideration on Friday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 10:59 p.m. Central Time.
“We are excited to have been selected as a finalist for the 2012 100 Cars for Good program,” said Karla Ortman, Director. “We’re grateful for this incredible opportunity to showcase our new low-cost pet spay/neuter traveling clinic and hopefully win a mini-van to help us increase our impact in and around Rhinelander. We hope everyone will help us spread the word now and, of course, will make time to visit www.100carsforgood.com on Friday, July 27 to vote for us.”
“Rhinelander Toyota is thrilled to support this local deserving organization for Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good this year,” said Tarsie Goes, Rhinelander Toyota Marketing Coordinator. “As an organization we believe in giving back to the community and The Fix Is In has always been on our list of worthy local causes. We’re hoping to help spread the word to get people to vote on July 27th to help The Fix Is In win a new vehicle from Toyota!”
100 Cars for Good is the first initiative to directly engage the public to determine how Toyota’s philanthropic donations are awarded. Local residents are encouraged to support The Fix Is In and their quest for a new Toyota. If The Fix Is In receives the most votes and is awarded the vehicle, it will be used by the spay/neuter medical team to travel to communities within 60-miles of Rhinelander to hold low-cost clinics.
Established in 2009 to provide low-cost spay/neuter services to income qualified households, The Fix Is In has facilitated more than 1,200 surgeries through local spay days with volunteer medical personnel, discounted services from cooperating local veterinarians and transports to a remote spay/neuter clinic. Beginning in August 2012, The Fix Is In will offer year round, regularly scheduled high quality, low-cost spay/neuter clinics in local communities, including Rhinelander, Wausau, Medford, Lac du Flambeau and Mole Lake.
