Marshfield Clinic contributes to Children’s Museum
Marshfield Clinic recently donated $250 to the Northwoods Children’s Museum to help the museum continue its mission to enrich lives, support families and encourage a love of learning through play.
“It’s amazing that the Museum has been open for more than 13 years and hosted over 250,000 guests,” said Physician Assistant Jill Brunstad, Family Practice, Marshfield Clinic Eagle River Center.
“Marshfield Clinic continues to support and help sustain the Museum as it has become such a positive part of life for Northwoods families,” said Dr. Michael McGill, Marshfield Clinic cardiologist. “We encourage others in our community to support the Children’s Museum’s plans for the future.”
Over the years, the Museum has grown in response to the needs of the community, said Rouleen Gartner, executive director. What started as 13 static exhibits, has grown to 23 exhibits, five historic adventures, weekly facilitated craft workshops, weekly preschool adventure programming, monthly Fun with Fathers, regular theme changes, and youth, high school and adult volunteering programs.
There is also a monthly special needs program that has become extremely popular, Gartner said. The museum’s Discovery Store has also been evolving to meet the needs of a rural community. Over the years, the item mix has changed to respond to demands from field trips, summer visitors and year-round visitors.”
“We’re grateful for the support from Marshfield Clinic and other organizations that will allow us to continue to grow,” Gartner said.
