Community invited to observe funeral procession for assistant fire chief
FOR STAR JOURNAL
RHINELANDER – The public is invited to show their respect to Rhinelander Assistant Fire Chief Dan Bauer, as his procession moves through the city on its way to the Northland Memorial Cemetery Thursday, Nov. 14. The procession is expected to begin between 1:15-1:30 p.m., leaving from Pine Grove Community Church on N. Stevens Street.
The route map is below. It appears to take Stevens Street south to Frederick Street, passing the fire station, then proceeding on Courtney to Lincoln, then left onto the Hwy 17 bypass and finally turning right onto Hwy C to the cemetery.
The Rhinelander Police Department asks that interested community members line up along the route, choosing a location that is safe and does not interfere with traffic.
Law enforcement will be located along the route to assist with traffic direction at intersections. Because the procession could be lengthy, the police department asks people to use alternate routes during the procession to reduce traffic backups.
