RHINELANDER – Friday night the Rebels hosted Tomahawk in a doubleheader at Stafford Field. The first game was scheduled for seven innings and the second game for five innings.
Dylan Vanderbunt was the starting pitcher for the Rebels and pitched a complete game allowing three runs on six hits and the Rebels committed two errors. The Rebels scored five runs on nine hits and aided by one Tomahawk error. Tomahawk led the game after three, 2-3, but the Rebels scored two in the fifth to take the lead 4-3 and then added a run in the sixth to make the final 5-3.
Game two was pitched by Sam Schneider who held Tomahawk to no runs on three hits. The Rebels scored two runs in the first inning, one in both the second and third innings and then six in the fourth to end the game 10-0.
Because the game was scheduled for five innings the mercy ruled was in effect in the fourth inning. Tomahawk committed five errors to aid the Rebels cause. The Rebels totaled nine hits in the game. BOB MAINHARDT PHOTOS.
