By Star Journal staff
A threat of violence at James Williams Middle School in Rhinelander this week has been investigated and determined to be false.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and School District of Rhinelander were alerted to the threat Tuesday, Dec. 14, of potential violence occurring at the school possibly Dec. 15. According to a joint press release, all students directly involved were interviewed; the student who made the false report will be dealt with by the schools.
In a statement released, Superintendent Eric Burke said the school will work with the student and family to “best support them in their return to school.”
Both the Sheriff’s Office and SDR said they appreciated the assistance of the community in providing information to the staff as quickly as they received it so the issue could be addressed.
