Star Journal Report

The Tomahawk boys basketball team were winless in conference and the Hodags were hoping to keep it that way as the Hatchets came to Rhinelander Tuesday evening for a conference matchup.

The beginning of the game was very competitive with the Hodags holding a slim lead until just before the end of the first half. That’s when the Hodags went on a little run and held a 9-point half time lead.

The second half was a different story as the Hodags turned up the defensive pressure, had steals for easy baskets, made some 3-point shots and went on a couple big scoring runs to outscore the Hatchets 45-19 and get the 79-42 win.

Devyn Orth goes to the basket for a layup and is fouled. Later in the second half Orth went to the free throw line for two shots and made them both at the 4:50 mark. At that point the Hodags held a 40 point advantage thereby sending the game to run time.
