Manitowish Waters Area Events

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, many Northwoods events have been postponed or canceled. Please verify information before heading out to any currently scheduled events.

Thursday, Aug. 20
Flea, Craft & Farmers Market
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Manitowish Waters Community Center
Arts, crafts, fresh grown farmers market vegetables and food available provided by MW Lions Club. Every Thursday through Aug. 28. manitowishwaters.org

Friday, Aug. 21
Free Cranberry Marsh Tours
Cranberry Square, Manitowish Waters
10 a.m., every Friday
No reservations required. One-hour tour, rain or shine, includes video, samples, prize drawings, educational display. All ages welcome. manitowishwaters.org

Free Guided Nature Hike
North Lakeland Discovery Center
10-11:30 a.m.
Join a NLDC naturalist on the interpretive trail to discover the sights and sounds of the great outdoors. Registration required. Must wear face masks. Free to attend; donations appreciated. manitowishwaters.org

Saturday, Aug. 22
Dillinger Pontoon Tour (two)
Little Bohemia Restaurant
9:30 a.m.-noon or noon-3:45 p.m.
Travel by pontoon to historic Dillinger sites, have lunch at the famous Little Bohemia Lodge and tour the property that was featured in the movie, “Public Enemy.” Register early. $50/$45 members. discovercenter.net

Sunday, Aug. 23
Music in the Park
4-6 p.m., Koller Memorial Park
Free outdoor concerts every Sunday in the summer. This week featuring Old Pine Road Band. Come by boat, car, bike or foot. www.music-in-the-park.com

Big Lake History Investigation Canoe Trip
Big Lake
9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Join a retired history teacher and Manitowish Waters Historical Society member on a tour of a lake with an interesting murder mystery in its past. Register by Aug. 27. For cost, registration and details, visit discoverycenter.net, event calendar.

Saturday, Sept. 5
Northwoods Bad Dash Mud Run
North Lakeland Discovery Center
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Four-mile, 12-obstacle course includes a mud crawl, cargo net, fish crib climb and more, plus will be a fun un-timed event. Register online by Aug. 31. Spectators. Post-race party includes music, beer, food and raffles. discoverycenter.net

Line Dance Improve Class
9:45-11:15 a.m., Thursdays

With Instructor Gloria Andersen in conjunction with Lola Center for the Arts. Masks required. $7 per session, at the door. Must have complted levels 1 & 2. lolaartswi.com

Reader’s Theater

Tuesday, Aug. 25
NWWC-Archery
Northwoods Wildlife and Wetlands Club Range, Mercer
9-10 a.m.
Looking for archers interested in traditional archery. A group is shooting Tuesdays and possibly Sundays. Anyone interested is encouraged to participate; fun and non-competitive, any skill level. Bring your own bow. Dave, 715-385-3286 or 715-904-1345.

Open Trap Shoot
