Ahlstrom-Munksjö Rhinelander and the Northwoods United Way have announced their continued partnership with a 2020 pledge donation to the United Way campaign. Members of United Steel Workers locals 2-15 and 2-1778, along with non-union employees have pledged more than $31,000 to benefit programs in the community.

“This donation will help the Northwoods United Way fund agencies in Oneida, Forest and Vilas counties,” said Nancy Sattler, executive director for Northwoods United Way. “Ahlstrom-Munksjö Rhinelander plant employees have been long-term partners of the United Way, and we are very grateful to accept their donation.”

Sattler added, “There continues to be a need in our area for basic supplies, crisis intervention, family resources, referral services and health and  healing assistance. This gift will help support the agencies providing this programming.”

Ahlstrom-Munksjö employs 494 people in Rhinelander and has more than 8,000 employees worldwide. With an international network of sales offices and 45 plants and converting sites in 14 countries, Ahlstrom-Munksjö is a global leader in fiber-based materials, supplying innovative and sustainable solutions to its customers.

“I am proud of the generosity of our Ahlstrom-Munksjö Rhinelander team members and their contribution to the Northwoods United Way,” said Joe Fierst, Rhinelander plant manager. “Together we can support these important programs and our neighbors in the Rhinelander community and beyond.”

The Northwoods United Way, Inc is a locally directed organization, working to improve lives in Forest, Oneida and Vilas Counties by mobilizing community resources and strategically investing in human service programs.

“We are getting close to wrapping up our 2019 Pledge Campaign, and this donation from Ahlstrom-Munksjö will go a long way in getting us closer to achieving our goal,” said Sattler. “We still need the communities support in order to meet our goal for 2019.”
