Rhinelander Christmas parade kicks off season
The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade and tree lighting event continues to grow in size. A record 23 parade entries cruised downtown Rhinelander, decked out with the “Sounds of the Holidays” theme last weekend.
The chamber announced winners in three categories:
Peoples State Bank “Best Depiction of Theme” Hodag Store
Ripco Credit Union “Most Holiday Spirit” Pine Lake Fire Department
Diel Insurance “Shining Star Float” CoVantage Credit Union
At Stevensport Square following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus along with Mayor Chris Frederickson counted down the lighting of the trees in the square. Carolers sang, children were invited to visit with Santa, and there were cookies and hot chocolate for all.
