STAR JOURNAL STAFF

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a construction information meeting to discuss the project on US 45 on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Walter E. Olson Memorial Library, 203 N. Main Street, Eagle River.  A brief presentation will be given at 5:05 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with information related to the construction of this project. WisDOT staff and the contractor, Pitlik & Wick, Inc., will review project details, discuss construction staging and traffic impacts, and provide access information for properties in the project work zone. Members of the public can view project exhibits and displays, discuss improvements and ask questions.

The project on US 45 will enhance the Pine Street corridor with a mill and overlay of the existing pavement, spot repair and replacement of existing features, and will reconfigure the roadway from four lanes to three lanes. During construction, traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction. Narrow lanes and flagging operations may be used at times to allow for work operations. The project is set to begin in early August and end in early October 2019.

The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Jesse Jefferson at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711). Persons who are unable to attend the meeting can request project information by contacting WisDOT Project Manager Jesse Jefferson by phone 715-490-0488, email Jesse.Jefferson@dot.wi.gov or by writing to 510 N. Hanson Lake Road, Rhinelander, WI 54501. The project also has a website that can be found at: https://projects.511wi.gov/us45er/.
