Star Journal report

The Hodag boys basketball team played in the first round of the regional basketball playoffs Tuesday night, hosting the Hawks from Shawano. The team hosted Shawano back in November and defeated them 68-60. The team was hoping to repeat that result to advance to the regional semifinal at Wausau East on Friday.

Junior Howard, a senior, had a very good game making all his shots from the field. Howard scored 30 points on four three-point shots, five field goals and sank 8 of 9 at the free throw line including four in a row down the stretch. The Hodags led 26-18 after the first half and went on to win 78-65.

Others chipping in with double digits were Drake Martin with 13 points and Quinn Lamers with 10. Photos by Bob Mainhardt.
