ANOTHER record-breaking night in the pool for Hodags

Four pool records were broken Thursday at the Heck Family Community Pool at Rhinelander High School. Senior Nolan Francis broke two records and the relay team of Francis, Joseph Heck, Russell Benoy and Devon Gaber also broke a pair of records in the dual meet against Shawano in which the Hodags won handily.
In the 50-yd freestyle, Francis broke another Alan Kroll record from 1994 with a time of 21.73 seconds, .11 seconds faster than the old record. In the 100-yard butterfly, Francis smashed the record that has stood since 1980 by two seconds.
Francis, Heck, Benoy and Gaber teamed up to set a new record in the 200-yd freestyle relay of 1:30.74. The old record, set in 2007 was 1:32.31. The quartet’s second record-breaking relay was the 400-yd freestyle, with a time of 3:21.40, besting the 1988 record of 3:24.15.
